October 4, 2022, 7 PM.  Anxious People, by Fredrik Backman.  An apartment open-house turns into a hostage situation when a failed bank robber bursts in and holds the attendees at gun point.  The odd mix of people are soon identified as “the worst hostages in the world.”” Each with their own grievances and stories, they become reluctant allies when hidden truths about themselves set in motion a chain of events so unexpected that even they are surprised by the ending.  Author Backman is a master of dialogue and plot, and author of  award-winning novels Beartown and A Man Called Ove.
