Happy Valley resident Virginia Flint spent the years 1965 – 1969 working for the US Bureau of Reclamation in Afghanistan. Traveling around the countryside in her 1964 Austin-Healy Sprite, she took phenomenal color slides of the people and their way of life before decades of war began their devastation. Virginia and her husband lived at the end of Happy Valley Road in the 1940s and she returned in 2013, residing in the Old Adobe. Come and see her photos, listen to her stories, and enjoy this glimpse into the past.
