Delta College: Natural Resource Conservation Course

San Joaquin Delta College is offering a Natural Resource Conservation course at Calaveras High School. Class will begin on Tuesday, August 23rd from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm. The course examines the need, importance and philosophy of conservation at the local and regional perspective.
Topics to be discussed include local resource management issues; citizens’s role in conservation; and discussions for the future. Current environmental issues are discussed from a local, national, and global perspective. Specific local resources to be examined include watershed management and aquatic systems, forestry and oak woodlands, wildlife and fisheries, climate, and energy.
This course is designed to increase student awareness of the importance of conservation as a social and behavioral science and to increase student participation in environmental resource conservation. Enrollment is limited.
