CERT Training for Local Emergency Response

The Calaveras Citizen Corps Council and the Copperopolis Fire Protection District presents Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Training for Calaveras County.  Following a major disaster, first responders who provide fire and medical services will not be able to meet the demand for these services.  Factors such as the number of victims, communication failures, and road blockages will prevent people from accessing emergency services they have come to expect at a moments notice through 911.  People will have to rely on each other for help in order to meet their immediate lifesavings and life sustaining needs.  We were very busy during the Butte Fire and could have use more help.  Please consider joining our Moke Hill Fire Department CERT Team.  You can get information at their web site: https://www.fema.gov/community-emergency-response-teams.

CERT Training is now being offered in Copperopolis at the Fire Department located at 370 Main Street on the following dates:

  • Saturday, March 5th (9:00 am to 5:30 p.m.) Potluck lunch
  • Saturday, March 12th (9:00 am to 5:30 p.m.) Potluck lunch
  • Sunday, March 13th (9:00 a.m to 2:00 p.m.) Bring Snacks

For more information or to register for this training, contact:   Dennis Lewis:  delewis63@yahoo.com  or Janet Dock at janetdock@me.com  by close of business Monday, February 22nd.  Class size is limited to the first 20 participants.

Do you have to attend all three dates or does one suffice?
