Rock ‘N Relief

Dear Community Members of Amador and Calaveras Counties. We have all experienced the recent tragedy with the Butte Fire. Both of our communities are coming together to assist those of our neighbors with the greatest needs. The Amador Community Foundation, a 501 C organization (Tax ID # 68‐0447992), has set up a Butte Fire Disaster Relief Fund. Because most of the devastation took place in Calaveras, it is anticipated that the overwhelming majority of the proceeds of this fund will go to Calaveras residents, as it should.
To help with this effort, a group of dedicated volunteers have organized an event called Rock ‘N Relief, which will be an evening of music and comedy, food and drink, raffles and auctions, all to raise as much funds as possible to grow the Butte Fire Disaster Relief Fund. Headlining the music will be the popular After Dark Band and two Calaveras groups, Gebro and Chains Required. A number of talented comics, led by Gavin Myers and Steven Hodges, will lighten the mood between music performances.
This event will take place at the beautiful and historic Kennedy Mine in Jackson on Thursday, October 22, from 5‐10 pm. Both the Amador Community Foundation and the Jackson Lions Club have endorsed this event and will be providing valuable guidance and volunteer assistance. Additional support is being provided by the Calaveras County Association of Realtors, the Amador County Association of Realtors, Calaveras Community Foundation, Twin Rivers Music Fund, and several other community groups in both Amador and Calaveras Counties.
Like any other fundraiser, we are seeking assistance to keep expenses to a minimum. This means
donations of volunteer time, cash donations, and raffle and auction items. Seth Seever of Double S
Auction Company will be the auctioneer for the evening, which will add another level of entertainment
and fundraising to the evening and Rich Hoffman, CEO of the Jackson Rancheria and Hotel, will be the
special guest emcee.
While the fire may have ended and the smoke subsided, the cleanup and the restoration of the victims lives has just begun and will continue for quite a long time. The need is great and we hope you will join us in playing a role in helping our friends and neighbors in need. Let’s make sure that Rock ‘N Relief is a smashing success and remember to #KickButte.
