Moke Hill Book Club July Meeting

Critical MassAre you a reader? Come to our July meeting of the Moke Hill Book Club! We will meet on Tuesday July 28 at 7 PM at the Moke Hill Library/Archives.

Our September book is Critical Mass, by best-selling crime-fiction writer Sara Paretsky. Paretsky’s series features tough female detective, V.I. Warshawski, who works in Chicago’s world of crime and politics. In this episode, the daughter of a friend finds her life in danger. The roots of this trouble reach back into the mad competition among the U.S., Germany, Japan, and England to develop the first atomic bomb. While the secrets may be old, the people who continue to guard them will do anything to make sure they stay buried.

Book Club details: No commitment, No attendance taken, No restrictions, No membership, No dues. Everyone who is interested in good books and discussions about them is welcome.

Book choices every few months will follow those selected by the Sacramento Bee’s “Bee Book Club.” Announcements will be 6-8 weeks before the meeting to allow folks to find and read the selection. Come and learn about the book even if you haven’t read it.

Sponsored by the Mokelumne Hill Friends of the Library. Send us your email address to be on the mailing list; or watch for announcements on mokehill.org and other news sources. Contact Janet Dock: janetdock@me.com.
