Calaveras welcomes our beloved Sky Song Duo, Kim Angelis and Josef to open another fabulous season of intimate concerts at the Quarry Hill Studio in the gallery. Kim Angelis and Josef — Sky Song Duo
Violin virtuoso and composer Kim Angelis with her husband, classical guitarist Josef will provide a blast from the past and a journey to the present, as the duo return to their former foothill home with many new creations from their Astoria, Oregon years. Kim’s music was featured at the 2000 Olympics. Her passionate, gypsy style is loved throughout Africa, Asia, and China, as well as North America.

Classical Revolution Presents Sound Underground Jazz Trio
Talking about a revolution . . . Sound Underground Jazz Trio is revolutionizing the music world. Classical Revolution got its start at San Francisco’s Revolution Café. It has since become a “movement”, spanning 30 cities, now making its way to the Sierra Foothills via Petroglyphe Gallery. This trio is composed of guitar, trumpet and alto saxophone plus woodwinds. These innovative young men have been globetrotting their fresh sound to an international audience. Their collaboration began as roomates studying at the Frost School of Music in Miami.

Alex de Grassi — Finger-Style Guitarist
Known for his technical wizardry and vibrant, poetic music making, de Grassi is one of the most distinctive steel-string guitarists working today. Internationally acclaimed, he has toured Europe, Latin America, Japan and throughout North America. From Jazz to Bolivian Blues and Chilean Folk Music, de Grassi’s program is full and inviting.

Ancora Trio — Two Flutes and a Cello
Tuolumne and Calaveras symphony musicians, June Diggle, Alice Williams and Janet Telford formed Ancora Trio for the pleasure of playing great music from the classical and standard popular music repertoire. Noted for presenting special music in special places, this feminine trio collaborates in the planning for each performance to assure the perfect ambience and atmosphere.
Tickets are now available for all performances, $25 presale and $27 day of the performance if available. Doors open at 3:30 pm and concert begins at 4:00 pm.
