Mary Wald and the NY Times
Moke Hill’s own Mary Wald, founder and president of TheCommunity.com, have made the big time. TheCommunity.com and its chairman (Nobel Peace Prize laureate Jose Ramos-Horta) were cited on the front page of the New York Times on October 26th in an article by Charlie Savage. http://www.nytimes.com/2014/10/27/us/politics/peace-prize-laureates-urge-disclosure-on-us-torture.html
It was also a top story on the front of Huffington Post, and picked up by the Daily Beast, Time Magazine and the Telegraph in the UK.
While mokehill.org takes no position on this subject, it is exciting to note that our tiny dot of a town has international reach.
