Petroglype Gallery Fine Arts Concert Series

Cellist, Erik Alvarez Urbina will be performing at the Petroglype Gallery on Sunday, May 18th. Doors open at 3:30 and the concert starts at 4:00 p.m. Tickets are $21 in advance and $23 the day of the event. Enjoy complimentary wine and appetizers before the show. Mr. Urbina studied with Stockton Symphony Cellist, Louise Saunders. In 2003, Erik was invited to perform with Central Valley Youth Symphony in Carnegie Hall in New York. He also studied under Nina Flyer, a cellist and instructor at University of the Pacific. He went on to study at the University of the Pacific Conservatory of Music where he won the University’s Honor Recital in 2008, 2009, 2011, and the Concerto Competition in 2011. The Concerto Competition gave Erik the opportunity to perform the cello in the Concerto in B minor by Dvorak with the University Symphony Orchestra. He was principal cellist with the University Symphony Orchestra from 2009-2011. In the fall of 2011, Erik began studying with Swedish cellist Jakob Koranyi in New York City. He returned to California, continuing to perform solo and in area orchestras, he also teaches music instruction privately.
