Steve Brown is Doing Great

Hi our fellow Mokehillians,

As some of you may or may not know, Steve (Mokelumne Hill Nuts) had to go in for open heart surgery to replace a bad valve that he was born with.

When the surgeon got in there he found a mess.  Not only did the valve need to be replaced, but a triple bypass was necessary.  Tests prior to surgery did show that some extra work needed to be done, but it wasn’t until the surgeon actually got in there that we knew how extensive the issue was.  The surgeon said that the bad valve had been working so hard for so long that it was calcified to the point of crumbling.

Steve came out of the surgery fine and is recovering very quickly.  He has a long road ahead of him and will be off of work for 3 months or more.

We want to thank everyone for their support and prayers.  Ron and Stuart are keeping the shop rolling and we still plan to do the fundraiser dinner for the Calaveras High Band at the end of April.  Steve will not be cooking, but will be there for ‘show and tell’.  Thanks again and we’ll be back in town soon.

Judy
