Jerry Ward Passed Away

Jerry Dean Ward died Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013, at the Queen of the Valley Hospital in Napa, after a brief residence at the Yountville Veterans Home. He was 76. He was born Aug. 9, 1937. He served on the U.S.S. Forrestal in the U.S. Navy. Known as a “real character,” Mr. Ward enjoyed acting, wood carving and doing other artistic media. He was a member of The Masquers Club in Hollywood. He spent the final decades of his life in Calaveras County, where he was a resident of Mokelumne Hill.Mr. Ward is survived by his brother, Jim Ward of Green Valley, Ariz.; sisters, Gloria Molitor and Pam Ward of St. Charles, Ill.; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Alta Ward; his twin brother, Larry Ward; a sister, Betty Klug; and brothers-in-law, George Molitor and Al Klug.There will be a remembrance gathering Thursday evening, 10/17 from 6-7pm at the Hotel Leger in Mokelumne Hill.
